Pension Unlocking
Everybody who reaches the age of 55 is able to Unlock cash from their pension, whether they’ve retired or not. The scheme allows us to Unlock up to 25% of our pension fund, tax free, so long as we are no longer contributing to it, or drawing from it.
You can take a smaller amount, say 10%, and then take the remaining 15% at a later date. This is called phasing and may work well if you just need a small amount to pay for something.
